So - nothing seems to be new on TV this week. My Tivo reserves are getting low and I'm thinking of renting a movie tonight. (Or renting the first season of Alias - I need another quirky, sci-fi-ish show to become obsessed with - Buffy and Angel are off the air). Anyway, forget about EW, or imdb, I get all of my opinons about movies from my friend Jordan. A couple of years ago - he set out to watch one movie every day for a year and review them. After the year was done - he still posts reviews that probably average one a day. Here's his movie reviews - take a look - I bet you'll find something for you next trip to Blockbuster. (Or wedelivervideos.com, in my case)
...of the year. This will probably be my last post for a while. I'm starting vacation today (at 5:00 or so). I'll be out of the office, and probably not posting, until the Monday after Christmas. We're spending some time here, in the city, and then we'll head down to Philly for next weekend. While we're still in town, I plan on doing some of the things on MUG's list of 50 Ways to End the Year.
I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post them when I get back. Happy Holiday's!
No, not salty and sweet. Although I do love putting M&M's in my movie popcorn. I've been watching a lot of Sesame Street lately (it's the onlything I like for Frankie to see on the TV - everything else has fast-paced, screaming loud commercials that all the books tell me are bad for his brain). And we all know how much I love The Apprentice. See here and here. Well, the surprisingly funny writers at Sesame Street are spoofing the Apprentice in April. I can't wait.
I got one of these for Mitch when he turned 30 this year. It wasn't as spot on as I thought, but they did a pretty good job. You can order them at whoopassenterprises.com and customize the body type and clothes in addition to the head. (Mitchs' was an Islanders hockey player body with his head on top).
So, I'm quietly reading the Drudge Report, not at all expecting to see some sensationalistic journalism or anything. (Remember when Matt Drudge was held up as the poster boy for the whole internet news thing?) And I come across a link to this. Does this kind of thing really happen? Are we living in a John Le Carre novel? Do opposition leaders really get poisoned? At least I'm pretty sure he's the opposition, Yushchenko, Yanukovych, who can keep these two straight?
